Taylor Swift caused the ‘Exorcist’ sequel’s producer to postpone the release date of the horror flick.
Taylor Swift’s intimidation of the producer of the ‘Exorcist’ sequel caused him to change the film’s release date.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Even though horror filmmaker Jason Blum is prepared to face demons, he believes that Taylor Swift is unbeatable.
After the “Cruel Summer” singer announced in August that the concert film of her “Eras” tour would open on Friday, October 13, the veteran film producer and founder of Blumhouse, who has produced hits like “Insidious” and “The Purge,” said he made the decision to move the release of his latest film “Exorcist: Believer” from the coveted date.
As he put it to Entertainment Tonight, “We had this amazing Friday the 13th in October, which is the single best day to release a scary movie.” “Obviously, we moved off that, and we bowed our heads to Taylor Swift,” Blum said of the revised “Exorcist: Believer” release date of October 6. We couldn’t afford to wait and see whether ‘Exorswift’ would catch on, so we called it off. As previously stated, the ‘Exorswift’ option will still be available to the public.
Blum initially suggested a “Barbieheimer”—seeing both “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer”—type of theatergoing experience with “Exorswift” on his social media after the “Style” singer’s unexpected announcement in August that “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” would premiere in theaters on Oct. 13, but he quickly decided he didn’t want to compete against the musical icon in his opening weekend.
“Look what you made me do,” he joked on Twitter at the time, adding the hashtag #TaylorWins.”
Look what you made me do.

While joking with ET, he said, “The one thing that scares me to death is Taylor Swift!”
Swift’s “Eras” tour has become a cultural phenomenon, selling out performances and causing Ticketmaster to break down last year due to high ticket demand.
After 50 years, viewers may see “The Exorcist: Believer,” which follows two young girls whose conduct begins to resemble that of Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair) during her demonic possession.
For the first time, “Believer” welcomes back Ellen Burstyn, who portrayed Regan’s mother in the previous film.
